I put in LED backup bulbs in my 2006 Boxster S . Is there a way to get rid of the error message that comes up when I start my car? In my 2013 BMW I replaced the high beams with LEDs and used an OBD bluetooth device and an app called Bimmercode to turn the error warning off. Is there a similar way of doing this on the 987?

Boxsters have electrical anomalies, most stemming from going too long on a failing battery . Due to how frequently it’s posted about? I would consider putting the factory bulbs back in and choose a different customization path. Why? Because it avoids the possibility of more collateral electrical bugs or damage, again just my thoughts, good luck.

not exactly my backup bulb, I replaced a number of interior / exterior LED bulbs and found: 1. interior ones DO NOT throw any codes 2. exterior ones are more sensitive - after trying a few different brands, LASFIT brand worked you may want to check this thread. https://www.planet-9.com/threads/987-2-rear-led-bulbs-primarily-turn-signal-diy-solution.256012/

I wouldn't think that just replacing the bulbs is going to cause all kinds of electrical problems. I know it's possible to add load resistors to fix this. But if there's a way to just switch this off, like there is on my BMW , I'd rather do that.
