im finishing up the ls3 swap on my
987.1
. i went with the LInk g4extreme
ecu
as it was supposedly simpler than trying to marry the gm and
porsche
computers as link says it has all the canbus streams so it will all talk as it should.
i have a couple of initial issues.
i know the clutch switch is a simple switch to ground, but the actual start activation is where i need some assistance.
the wiring shows power into the terminal 15 relay. the relay coil is provided 12+ and is switched by ground provided by the pas (drivers recognition unit).
power then goes to a second relay (start lock relay) that is powered by the
ecu
.
one side of the coil goes to the
ecu
and the other goes to the PAS. i don't know if the
ecu
provides power or ground to this coil.
can i assume that if it needs ground when i check the wire coming from the start lock relayi should see 12+?
my other question is if the first relay that the PAS powers on whenever the proper key in in the ignition or is it only active when the start lock relay is energized. it appears from the attached diagram that possible when the start lock relay is energized and closed the contact the power that energizes the starter solenoid may also pass through the PAS to then power the first realy letting power flow through the start lock relay.
anyone have any insight on this?
Since it's been 2 weeks with no reply - I'm moving this to the "
Cayman
/
Boxster
DIY, Service, Repairs 2005-2012" forum in the hope it gets more attention.. hang on while I move it..
thanks Don for the help with the views. I have figured this issue out. its legnthy to post but if anyone needs any help on this circuit PM me. i have become quite the expert on this having to get this worked out.
Great to hear you've gotten it worked out. When you have a few minutes - how about a new post on doing your transplant - there are a number of people interested in this sort of project - people with
IMS
or bore-score issues..
Abd welcome to Planet-9!
Scapes by steven, I would love to hear more detail how you got past the imobilizer on the swap. Not getting handshake currently
