Supposedly there's a repair kit that USED to be available, part number 996-561-955-00, but of the 2 vendors I've tried to purchase it from neither can get it anymore...

I removed the carrier piece, drilled a screw into it, then glued on the broken piece using the screw as a guide/support.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've got a wind deflector with a slide bolt/mount that has snapped. Supposedly there's a repair kit that USED to be available, part number 996-561-955-00, but of the 2 vendors I've tried to purchase it from neither can get it anymore... I'm considering working with my friendly neighborhood mechanical engineer and 3d printing enthusiast to print a replacement slide bolt. So, dear Rennlist community this leaves me with 2 questions: 1. Are there any other repair or replacement options out there that I'm not aware of? 2. If I'm printing 1, I could print a platter's worth. Anyone else have a need/interest?

I've tried to order from 2 other sites that use that same web page layout, which I think is the standard Porsche North America dealership parts portal, and neither could provide the part.

POST 4Original post

What part broke? On mine the small plastic piece that goes into the receiver in the side of the car snapped off. I removed the carrier piece, drilled a screw into it, then glued on the broken piece using the screw as a guide/support. Used Jb Weld and it turned out great.

yeah. Tried that with cyanoacrylate. Epoxy was going to be my next attempt. Worried it wont last even with a screw to reinforce.

The JB Weld glues mostly the plastic piece to the screw. Mine is super secure, and if breaks again no worse off.
