Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The only time this is an issue is if you are due for an emissions check soon - it takes about 50-100 miles to relearn, so just be aware of that.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I have a cayman S 2009/ PDK . Yesterday, I changed my winter rims and tires to my summer rims and tires. In previous years my board will allow me to change the setting to summer tires and the tpm will show my tire pressure. This time it indicates to change the setting but it seems frozen and I can only exit the screen. Has this ever been experienced by someone. I was told to reset by removing my negative battery cable and rep lugging but are hesitant to do this. Any one experience this?

POST 2Original post

Never heard about this particular issue, but I see no problem with removing the negative battery cable to reset things... on our cars about the only thing you'll "lose" is maybe the radio settings and the window position settings. The rest would be retained. Note that this will reset the ECU for fuel trims and such, which will be automatically relearned as you drive. The only time this is an issue is if you are due for an emissions check soon - it takes about 50-100 miles to relearn, so just be aware of that. The lockout seems weird for sure. A common issue for weird problems on these cars like this is often due to a low battery - when was the last time it was replaced? If you're not sure, there should be a label on the battery to indicate when it was made. If the battery was ever dead or jumpstarted, then you likely need to replace it. If the battery is older than 5 years, then it likely needs to be replaced as well.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
