Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have the Rennline kit but changed phones which doesn't allow me to insert the metal sheet inside the phone.

In the meantime I use a vent mount on the drivers side.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

highly recommend this phone mount. perfectly designed for our 996 and a breeze to install! hoping the $12 aux iphone cord/kit shows up from china and works!
I could not find a phone mount that I liked and also needed to add an FM Modulator for Bluetooth since I have the CDR23 system. The phone mount was fabricated from a scrap of sheet metal, painted and timed with a piece of vacuum tubing that was split and applied with silicone around its edge.
there is only one option in my mind.
a combination of the kuda

and the proclip

not cheap, but the best look and quality.
i have an older version of the proclip that seats flush with the kuda, and i mounted the lightning cable thru it.
i will post picture later.
Currently using this one and love it.

Nice, but when you live in the F..... up state of CA, it is illegal to have any devise mounted to inside of windshield. Sure wish I could convince my wife to move.
ebay Aux cord/iphone charger from China for $12 shipped just showed up. 5 min install, plug and play in back of CDR 220… can finally listen to spotify in the car and hear voice over car speakers when making calls. does not take too much to make me happy. this is awesome.
The Rennline mount is far and away the best (IMO) mount for a cell phone (mount only mind you) as for the fact that it sits in front of the cigarette lighter, you just need to get a low profile usb adapter and there's plenty of room for it...
Is there a non-magnetic version of the clip? I have the Rennline kit but changed phones which doesn't allow me to insert the metal sheet inside the phone. Looks like it is easily replaceable, just need one that can clip onto the ball.
Do you have any pics of yours installed? I might get this one if it works good.
Also, where do you guys buy the Rennline mount? I couldnt find it on ebay.
Here is mine installed... I like it a lot but with the new iPhone X and I would like to have a wireless charging/magnetic mount but have not found anything I like just yet.

has a curious assortment of mounts and adapters. I may try something using the Rennline mount as the "base." My aim is to keep it clean with a low profile.
I use this bracket 5 minute install. Then you can add whatever phone mount you like to it. Magnetic holder etc.

I do not like looking down so low to see my phone at my age anymore so I am going with a double din carplay unit. In the meantime I use a vent mount on the drivers side. with a magnetic mount.
That is one fugly phone mount.
This is what I use when I need it for navigation. Otherwise it's in my pocket or in one of the cubbys. It's magnetic and is at a great height for navigation. I use a bluetooth adapter from iSimple with my factory CDR-220.
Wow, didn't know this...been driving in CA with a windshield mount for years. On the plus side, it gives the cop a minor backup ticket he can write if you can talk him out of the speeding one.
It's a Scosche Magnetic mount that uses 3M tape, not the one with the suction cup. I removed the bottom piece to reduce the overall size. It works great.
I just received a Rennline mount. I have three issues.
1) I cant place my phone vertically because it overlaps with the cigarette light charger!
2) I cant tighten the ball onto the bracket tightly enough. The provided Allen wrench doesnt fit due to the angle of the opening on the bracket! Once the ball is loose in the bracket, the hone cannot be held straight anymore. Total fail.
3) I have a full leather interior and the bracket fits too tightly, creating an indent in the leather. Having to take the panel on/off every time the ball comes loose is going to permanently scuff the leather
Overall Im pretty darn disappointed. Going to have to just spend the money on a head head unit.

Took it to a hardware store. They had the right tools to tighten the ball onto the bracket is tight as humanly possible.
Also discovered the bracket has some room around the screw, so it can be tightened to leave little extra room for the side panel.
Long story short, I got it working…
I have cable connected to my Radio, so I want the wireless phone charge so I can charge while ALSO connecting to to the radio. That would be a lot of cable hanging from the Yaz996 mount (although I do recognize the placement is awesome)
He has a slot in the mount that allows the cable to be routed up behind the dash and come out at the mount. No wires dangling in space, very neat finished look.
I had a Rennline mount before this one. It was well made and stable and all that, but it suffered from the same issue so many of them do, namely that I had to look so far away from the road to see the screen. I use phone-based mapping a lot so the location of the
