I needed to jack mine up to remove a wheel/tire to get a flat tire replaced (no one wanted to repair it due to damage on the interior sidewall).
Leading evidence: 'Replace (no one wanted' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace (no one wanted' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I used a floor jack to lift the rear of the car on one side, I want to place a jack stand under that side so I can lift the other side , however there is no where safe to place thejack standto release the floor jack.

santa fe suggests using the frame adjacent to the jack points, while the image from the brake fluid change seems to be on the axle, or perhaps a rear strut?

I am trying to jack the rear of my Cayman up and place Jack stands under the car, however Porsche states to only use the 'Jack Plates' to do so, How in the heck do you place jack stands on the plates if the the Jack is there???

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3rdclas,
I think maybe I'm missing something, as well. Is your question related more to jack plates or to a confounding positioning situation with the jack stands and the jack once the car is lifted?
Here is some

Porsche has designed the car to be lifted at those four jack points, using lifts. They don't use jack stands. The only points that are truly safe to put the jack stands would be the jack points.

Swampcroc,

Sorry I misunderstood the question. Here is what k-man-s said to a similar question '
You lift with the rear jack point and put one jackstand under the front jack point and the other under the frame of the car near the rear jack point. The jackpoint is simply wider to acommodate the floor jack but you can still position a jackstand under the frame next to it.'
I've not tried that.
I thought that's where you were going with your question,
3rdclas.

cleared that up for you. I've had my car up using Ralph's (Boothe) jack plate but would feel uncomfortable using stands under this car. BOL.
I'd like to see a picture of where to use the Jack-Stands (not the floor jack). Anyone have a picture from underneath with their car on Jack-Stands?

hi folks,
sorry to bring this thread back to life, but i stll remain a bit confused as the best place for jack stands to lift the rear end for an oil change. santa fe suggests using the frame adjacent to the jack points, while the image from the brake fluid change seems to be on the axle, or perhaps a rear strut?
a picture of course should make it all clear, but i cant quite make out where the jack stands have been placed.
any thoughts?
peace, michael

I placed 8x12 wooden cribbing under each of the aluminum chassis bars on either side (running same direction as the bar). When I asked around, that seemed to be the place of choice since you could not place a jack stand at the jacking point. I kept the wood approx. 15' long as close to the jack point as I could. Tire shop explained that is where they would place the jack stands as well. The only think I am looking for are short (under 11' high) jackstands to no avail. I did locate some forklift stands but they are $225 a pair.......so I guess I'll just keep the cribbing handy.
