Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need advice on removing power driver's seat on 997 to install fire extinguisher bracket. It looks to be held on by star headed torque bolts (?) front and rear. I live 500 miles from the nearest Porsche dealer so would like to do the work locally. What special tools, sockets, etc. Thank you for any advice you can provide.

POST 2Original post

Have you been to Sears looking for the tool? Are you going for a test fit see if you like it? Regards,

no such thing, iirc it's a 12 or 14 dont remember off hand. I like you way of thinking, just split it down the middle

POST 6Original post

Don't you just hate it when someone calls you out on an issue and they're right? You forced me to get off my dead butt and go pull the Star socket set....and you are quite correct....there is no #13.....it's the #12 star socket that fits that bolt head. Good catch!! Now I can slink away and pout.
