Not an aftermarket solution, but I just installed 997 seats last weekend.

I have Recaro Sportsters in mine and used the recaro rails with the Planted seat brackets.

Theres a good older thread that has a ton of seat set ups.

I would only use BK mounts, preferably the fixed version.

I also added a Momo steering wheel and Works Bell carbon paddle shift hub (car is a tiptronic) and highly recommend using the eccentric adaptor.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
My question is if anyone has put in aftermarket seats and what that did for their seat position.
I have considered reupholstering my seats, but to be honest they are very uncomfortable for me and I would like to sit lower.
The thing I am interested in the most is if I get an aftermarket seat brackets will that give me a lower seating position or will it be about the same?
Thanks for any help
- Tyler
How do the seat belt buckles bolt on in this setup? I'm thinking to do Sportsters as well but past experience they gave me an extra bracket that goes between the seat and the slider. I'd like to not do that if possible, though we can always weld to the BK bracket.
Theres a good older thread that has a ton of seat set ups. Im still waiting for mine but its a carbon Sparco QRT with a Bbi Base should have it in the car by March.
There are two types of sliders that Recaro makes for Porsche. I found out about this after I bought mine.

I already have a plan for the 'V.2' on my spacer
Not an aftermarket solution, but I just installed 997 seats last weekend. They are noticeably lower and more comfortable.
I had full power/heated/memory 996 seats. Even after replacing the seat cushion foam and the suspension webbing, they still werent as comfortable as these 997 seats. I had the 996 seats at their lowest setting and still didnt feel low enough. With the 997 seats, I have actually had to place the seats a bit above their lowest setting. Even better, the 997 seats bolt right in (although the wiring can take some work).
Position is great. I also added a Momo steering wheel and Works Bell carbon paddle shift hub (car is a tiptronic) and highly recommend using the eccentric adaptor.
I might lean towards this, I really like the idea. I have a feeling getting these seats might be expensive and not easy to find for me. Almost zero chance I will find them used in hawaii and shipping seats here is always a giant pain.
But Im going to look into it. Thank you
That might be perfect if what Chris8382 says is correct and the stock 997 seat position is lower than the stock 996. Thanks this is really helping me.
One other question if anyone happens to know. Is it possible to get a manual seat mount that fits to the stock seats that will lower my seating position?
I'm really trying to get like 2 inches lower and that would be far more important to me than keeping the electronics. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
Thanks again this was been very helpful for me.
