Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking for a printed engine manual for a 02 & later 996/997. Specifically need info on the Vario-cam-plus cam timing. The factory only seem to have this within their laptop computers, and I would like something in printed form. I would be happy to pay for this, even if its a copy out of someone's computer. Thanks in advance for any help with this. [email removed]

Hey Len! How have you been? Porsche keeps any really good tech info on these motors under wraps...still. For cam timing you simply use the prescribed alignment tools. Real easy stuff actually but you won't find many of the crucial tolerance specs needed for proper machining and rebuilds in the factory manuals. Drop me a line if you want any of the tool info. Don
