Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Last part number I have is 996-803-183-09, but as they have superseded this particular part a couple of times, I would check with a dealer parts department first.
Leading evidence: 'airbag control module' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'airbag control module' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check with a dealer parts department first' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The repair involved replacing pins in the belt connector, but the old pins would not budge (I guess you need a special tool for this).
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

OK, after some research into Snap-On diagnostic systems, and some translation of one fault code system into another, it would appear you may have a driver's side seat belt buckle issue. Porsche developed a fix for this which consists of a new buckle and its wiring harness, which seems to be a permanent fix. Parts are about $100 or so, and then the code can be cleared.
Thanks ever so much for taking the time to cross ref the codes and help. Do you think once installed the snap
On tool can clear the code or maybe even my Schwann? The closest Porsche dealer is well over an hour away and I have yet to find anyone near me with PIWIS. Any chance you have a part number? Again many thanks
I invested in a Durametric in 2008, just recently upgraded to their Pro version. This tool clears Airbag Codes and does programming on certain Porsche models
I’ve owned this car 7 years. I’ve taken a deposit on it and this light just came on for the first time ever. It may be a deal breaker but I don’t want to buy a durametric.
It might even clear itself once the repair is completed, but the Snap On tool will definitely clear it if necessary.

And as replacing this unit is within the airbag system safety protocols, you need to read up on how to deactivate the system so you can work on it without getting a face full of air bag.
Well this is my 2cnd 911 . Owned the two combined for almost 20 years. Had both engines out and did the ims on the C4s and never once went to a dealer. Until now that is! Lol. Made an appointment for Wednesday as I have a deposit on the car and the light would stop the deal! Having PPI there too which although the car runs excellent concerns me they will be super nit picky. Thanks for your help but the more I read the iffy I felt about being able to resolve this myself. An airbag deploying would have freaked me out to say the least.
I went through this same episode a few years ago, and ordered the repair kit. The repair involved replacing pins in the belt connector, but the old pins would not budge (I guess you need a special tool for this). Instead, I bought a new buckle with connector-easy install, and cleared the code with a Durametric
Well I found a red wire with blue or purple stripe on it within the harness in the running board after of the trunk that had been chewed off. I was able to solder it. The light is still on and my schwaben can’t clear it. I thought perhaps that wire wasn’t the problem but I took a look under the seat and seems there a red w purple stripe wire going to connector junction. So maybe all I need to do is have someone w the right tool clear it?!
Well I broke down and drove an hour to Porsche today. It wasn’t the wire I suspected as they said they can’t even shut off or clear the code. Although I had an appointment to diagnose or fix it they sent me home. Told me they had to get pricing and would email estimate. I get home and they had pricing for a bunch of other stuff and want more $ to open the door and investigate more! What BS after I spent 1/2 a day and hundreds.
