Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Leading evidence: 'control module' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'control module' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect battery' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

In my shop, we also would put a static grounding strap on any technician working on the system to prevent any potential for a static discharge to the car which could set the system off.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I’ve been trying to clear an airbag light for weeks as noted in other post. Brought to Porsche and they sent me away indicating they’d provide an estimate for repairs only to later tell me they needed to open up the driver door to investigate further. The won’t return text, email or calls. Indicated something may have been shorted due to mice. Since they didn’t finish or will call me I tried another mechanic. He indicates code 141 and suggest replacing the airbag control module . Since it’s a very expensive part and a much different suggestion does anyone have a good suggestion? Thought of buying a used one but concerned I may just buy one which has already deployed or faulty too. Thanks
Seems I read if you install a new one you have to have it turned on or activated but I thought I read someone else bought a used one and just swapped it out and all was corrected. I’ve spent $1000 already and getting no where.
It is more than just "turned on", it is coded to match the equipment in the vehicle, which changes with various models. If a used one works, it would be pure luck that the settings were the same, a new one will carry no settings, so you have to tell it what car it is in.
And no one ever said these cars are either cheap to buy, or to maintain.
I’m reading various opinions on the proper way to swap them out. Turn key to on and disconnect battery or remove key and disconnect the battery? Also read waiting times of both 1 and 15 minutes before pulling the module. Any pointers? Thanks
