Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I am wondering about upgrading my SatNav with something a bit more up to date. I would like to keep it looking standard, but with more modern features DAB, BlueTooth, etc. I have concerns about this as I have the Bose system fitted & i have no idea how optical system would be compatible with modern technology. Has anybody done something like this to their car? Thanks, Shane

POST 2Original post

Hi Shane, I believe there is an article somewhere, that Richard Hamilton has done in the tech guides, he certainly has provided info in some posts, with a quick search This was in a very recent thread, https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/FindPost/1007581 as a cost effective easy solution for Music, that required no work or head removal, doesn't help with the satnav etc though. Having thought of doing something similar myself, as this isnt a daily driver, Im quite happy I cant use the phone, so i can listen to the engine note It also means it's kept as stock as possible, if I come to sell and that's what the new owner may want. All personal preference I suppose, but the more people I speak to, the more are tending to deviate much from originality, FWIW. Mark
