Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

guys, who knows where i can get my OEM sports exhaust "quiet mode" overriden, my local OPC Lindbrook wont help Migration info. Legacy thread was 27762

POST 2Original post

I don't understand- I thought the OEM exhaust allowed you to switch the modes as you wanted? Migration info. Legacy thread was 27765

POST 3Original post

The default mode is LOUD (very loud indeed with the latest version). You could just disconnect the vacuum pipes and plug them to stop leaks. Then you're loud all the time - quick and dirty but it works and all you have to do to sell the car is connect the pipes back up Ian W Migration info. Legacy thread was 27771

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the switch allows u to turn it off completely, or when it's on the electronics dampen down the sound between 30/44 mph for MOT purposes I believe!? several guys have said their dealer can override this, trying to find out which dealers they are, Lindbrook isn't very helpful on this one! Migration info. Legacy thread was 27775

POST 5Original post

The 30/45 quiet mode cannot be overridden by an OPC as it is not a programmable function. You have to do it yourself and it isn't sanctioned by Porsche (Surprise)! Here's how: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2470 Ian W Migration info. Legacy thread was 27777

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thx ian! Migration info. Legacy thread was 27780

POST 7Original post

Ah ha... I didn't realise there was spoilsport electrickery involved. Reminds me of the standard Ferrari F355 exhaust which opened a cat bypass valve at 3000 rpm in all gears except 3rd when it opened at 4000 rpm- a neat route around the Euro drive-by noise regs! They claimed it was to increase back-pressure at low rpm to improve torque, which may be Porsche's line too. Migration info. Legacy thread was 27781

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i paid for LOUD, now i've got it! Migration info. Legacy thread was 27791
