Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

1

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

First, using a Porsche specific scan tool, check the air/fuel ratio output on bank 1, that would confirm the code.

Another pathway is to use a non contact pyrometer and check the individual exhaust header runner temperatures to see if one is hotter than the others.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I have a 911 996/1999. I have the error code P1128. Bank 1-sensor 1- Maximum sensor voltage-fail. Bank 2 sensed 1 - Maximum sensor voltage fail. Can you help me? Is the oxygen sensor? Is the MAF sensor? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

P1128 is actually the code for an overly lean O2 sensor signal on bank #1, usually a sign of a vacuum leak effecting that bank or poor fuel delivery in one or more cylinders on that bank.

POST 4Original post

Quotes source post: 11842302

First, using a Porsche specific scan tool, check the air/fuel ratio output on bank 1, that would confirm the code. Then pull and read the plugs on that bank to see if only one or more cylinders are running lean. Another pathway is to use a non contact pyrometer and check the individual exhaust header runner temperatures to see if one is hotter than the others. If only one cylinder, check the injector pulse width on that injector to see if it is functioning properly. If all cylinders are lean, smoke test that bank for vacuum leaks.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
