Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been in touch with a 996.2 Targa owner that is parting his car out due to an engine failure and I would like to buy some parts that may fail in the future for my Targa. I already knew OEM parts for the Targa are insane.
I plan on keeping mine for a while and would like to have spare parts, for the just in case. And I tried to search on the main differences from the coupe vs Targa, and what could be interchangeable?
That would have been the M96.03. Hmmmm... wonder what killed it? Two things comes to mind.
Of course the obvious... the roof system which is a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it. But beyond that, it was basically the same in regards to the engine, equipment, and options. IMHO, just like today's Targas, they're considered upper end among the 911 variants and the 996 Targas that I've looked at seemed to have more exclusive options that you didn't find on the average Carrera coupe.
I am unsure what exclusive options were on the Targa, mine only has the roof and sunshade buttons that are for the Targa and everything else that is found on the coupe, PW, 12 speaker Bose system, 18' Carrera 5 spoke, wheels, etc ? My Targa doesnt have PSM though, which I found interesting
The targa is built on a cabriolet body. The entire targa roof section comes off. Take it all. Take the batwing from the interior too. But dont pay much because its all 20 years old.
It would be an interesting stat to compile as well as how many have a LSD.
I purposely didn't want one with PSM. But IMHO, what's more important is the LSD. It's night and day different in stability and safety when you have both rear wheels putting power to the ground when accelerating aand when off the gas during braking.
