Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As our cars have entered their vintage years, there is going to be lots of plastic that breaks just by looking at it wrong and I just encountered one. Its a blank plate on the overhead panel. Porsche is good with labelling nearly everything with a part number but this part was not. With BMWs there is a wonderful resource called realoem where you can punch in the last 7 of the VIN and then start to search factory diagrams and find part numbers. I have dcauto.com saved but that seems to be lacking slightly. https://dcauto.com/illustrations/2831?year=1998 Does anyone have a good resource to find the small random stuff, or is this a matter of "dumpster diving" (junkyard hunting, scouring part-outs, etc)

POST 2Original post

I've always found it easier to browse AutoAtlanta https://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-..._911_parts.php because you can see multiple pages at once to find the diagram you want, then click to drill in.

POST 3Original post

just pick the correct section at the top menu. you can also use the attached PET

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the links, but to be fair, they all sort of show the same diagrams... https://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-...section=807-09 Im looking for the covers that would go on the two openings on #7 "Cover Interior" Theres a cap listed at #9, but its unclear if its the right one...

POST 5Original post

@2mAn I think you're looking for these interior sensor covers: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...618-212-02-OEM

POST 6Original post

Being that its a cover for the motion sensor, it's listed on the page for the alarm control unit: https://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-...=99661821202#a

POST 7Original post

I just spent about 12 hours poring over PET + Auto Atlanta to find the parts I was seeking. I like to use both, it helps me focus in.
