Within about 3 hours (which included a lot of time running back and forth between the car and the computer to get closeups of some of the photos since I didn't feel like printing them all) I was done!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm taking my 996 on a road trip to Tampa, FL in a little over a week so I knew it was time to take care of any small issues I may have. So the first one was to address the broken window regulator. My window on the passenger side stopped going down the 1/2" or so to clear the top of the car. I ordered a new regular from Suncoast for about $185. I then read the instructions on this site: http://www.bombaydigital.com/boxster/projects/window/ Within about 3 hours (which included a lot of time running back and forth between the car and the computer to get closeups of some of the photos since I didn't feel like printing them all) I was done! The only thing this site doesn't do is tell you to remove the little plastic stop on the left side of the regulator since it isn't needed on a 996. But overall it was a fairly simple job. I think I can do the next one in about half the time. Next up is to polish the cloudy headlights, change the oil, and polish/wax the car...

POST 2Original post

Good job. I did my passenger's side regulator last year. It feels good to do that and save yourself some $$$.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I don't know if anyone has a use for this or not, but I still have the old regulator that I'll give away. I always feel strange throwing away old parts, especially one this big and thought maybe someone could use it? I'll also post a thread on the recycler forum.

POST 4Original post

Always nice to hear of another 'fix' without taking your Porsche to a dealer, or an indy. Feels pretty good to do it yourself, nice job.
