Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T124918Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everybody....just picked up my new 996 C2 and the only thing it doesn't have is the OBC....I'm aware that you can retrofit it, but has anybody done it personally? Even better, does anybody know of an independent specialist who has done it in the London/M25 area? I want to put the full stalk installation in. My temp display is enabled on my car, so I know its there!! The car is a 1999 model year by the way. Thanks (in anticipation) Marc Migration info. Legacy thread was 25849

John and Robert, Thanks very much for that info....I had never heard of them previously, but phoned them yesterday and have booked the car in...sounds as though they know what they're talking about on the phone...will let the board know when its done. Cheers! Marc Migration info. Legacy thread was 25923

POST 5Original post

It is one very knowledgable guy (ex G Force I think) working from a small workshop. What you lose in the lack of glamorous OPC style accomodation, you gain in a £35 per hour labour rate! Robert. Migration info. Legacy thread was 25963

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just had the OBC stalk fitted at Wrightune and I have to say that the owner (Tony) and his friend (Richard) were very helpful and I couldn't but help be impressed by their combined knowledge and tech abilities. And the coffee was good too! Would very much recommend them...I will certainly use them again, despite the longish journey over to them. Marc Migration info. Legacy thread was 27057

second hand ones usually go for between £100 - £200 on ebay - make me an offer? may be tempted to put on ebay to be honest as there seems to be plenty of interest. marc Migration info. Legacy thread was 27356

POST 12Original post

Marc - not ready to make the upgrade yet. Too many other things going on so rather than mess you around, chuck it on eBay, however send me the link. May change my mind..... Migration info. Legacy thread was 27359
