0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'blocked drains' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'blocked drains' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check bottom of your door cards' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. It isn't used anywhere near enough, probably twice per month.

But I was recommended and have used a product called Fabsil on my hood which is also navy blue..

Also check the bottom of your door cards which indicates a door membrane has been compromised or door card not fitted properly.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everyone,
newbie here, be gentle!
I have a 911 996 convertible, with a dark blue hood. I have noticed with the recent wet weather that the hood isn't repelling water. It isn't leaking but I noticed after parking in the garage some mould appearing on the leather and steering wheel, hence damp inside.
Can anyone suggest a dark navy hood dye, then a good water repellent solution I could apply?
Many thanks, Paul
As above, most likely leaking in somewhere. Fabsil is cheap from screwfix and works for a week or so. The material of the roof is designed to not allow water through it and is pretty good at that. For tarting your roof up, get a 3 part Renovo kit.

It is the 1st time it has appeared (after about 2 weeks), however, it is also the 1st time I parked it in my garage after the installation of bi-fold doors, so the garage inside was warmer than outside for the 1st time ever, and I parked it inside when it was wet. That's my theory!
It isn't used anywhere near enough, probably twice per month.
Welcome
There are a few separate issues here I think....
- Mold forming inside a car in storage is usually due to insufficient airflow in damp conditions. If your storage area is dry but unheated then the usual trap owners fall into is trying to make the storage area "air tight". Thats the worst thing you can do, air flow is needed in unheated storage. A simple remedy is to place a dehumidifier pad in the passenger footwell. The type you regenerate in a micro wave. They are cheap from Amazon. That usually solves the problem.
- if not its a sign that there is actually damp in your car ie its not from ambient dampness. The usual culprit is blocked drains. Check the carpets under your seats. The insulation is thick and can mop up / hold a lot of water that may not be obvious. Also check the bottom of your door cards which indicates a door membrane has been compromised or door card not fitted properly.
- re the cloth roof there is a common misconception that it should repel water. Whilst that looks good its not actually required as the roof are multi layered and the top cloth is not the water barrier. It is worth however water proofing them every few years. nb this would not solve any fundamental issues with the roof allowing water ingress to the car however over the medium term. You can buy specialist car roof proofers but you pay a premium for it. You can just as effectively use a tent proofer which tend to be much cheaper and just as effective. nb do not let any dry on your car paint as its a nightmare to get off. Just have a large sponge and bucket of clean water nearby to wash off any overspill onto glass / body before it dries.
If the roof is faded then you can redye. These can look OK for a short while but never really last unless the car is stored indoors most of the time.
i found the autoglym hood cleaning kit works really well and easy to use/apply.
Like others have said - have a good poke around to check for any dampness, including having a good dig around in the sponge under the carpet.
As you have a nice dry garage, you can leave the windows open to promote some airflow while stored which should help
