On my situation, I managed to secure the Thule feet used on eBay and then bought long rear feet to get the rack level.

I don't have the measurements, however there's an option to use Thule bars (I can't remember the exact model but I found it after 30mins of googling last time) which may provide you a cheaper/simpler solution?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As we all know, it's near impossible to get an OE roof rack. I've started talking to a fabricator to build me something instead. Question: Could anyone with a roof rack take some detailed photos and measurements of the OE foot for the roof rack? Thanks --Pete

POST 2Original post

POST 3Original post

metal part w/o endcaps (which add quite a bit to the length) are ~935mm F & ~845mm R. as @Jay. has said go to Thule roof rack https://www.design911.com/p/thule-evo-118-aluminium-roof-rack-system-for-porsche-911-2000-2011/

POST 4Original post

I’ve gone Thule, short foot pack all round rather than level it out with taller feet at the back as I’m carrying bikes and they don’t need to be level.

I did the same. Works great!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As I understand, the Tequipment rack (Roof Transport System) was actually made by Thule so everything should match well there. For Yak, I think it depends - some of the Yak bars are very similar to the Thule Aerobar design so I'd expect some ability swap back and forth. On my situation, I managed to secure the Thule feet used on eBay and then bought long rear feet to get the rack level. I'll post some pictures soon with part numbers. Next step is to design a platform/basket with extruded aluminum T-slot

POST 10Original post

I'll be interested Pete, when you are ready to hear of the Thule part numbers to ensure a level rack (short front feet and long rear feet). Thanks.

I've been looking at these recently (and the slightly cheaper copycat products - Rockbros etc) as a simpler/faster alternative to the Thule bars I've already got. Are they really as good as everyone says? Got a trip to France coming up and we were thinking of taking a couple of bikes on the roof of my 996....

POST 12Original post

Hi everyone, I've just picked up a 996 Carrera and need some roof bars for a surfboard but its proving pretty difficult to find any, by any chance does anyone here have some for sale, thank you

POST 13Original post

Sorry to revive this, I’m aware the Thule 3100 fitting kits are sold out everywhere and eBay listings want over £400. I decided to DIY it and just finished fitting the Thule Wingbars on my 996 C4S for less than £100 and about 30 mins work using the below: 2x 753 Thule feet for the front 2x 751 Thule feet for the rear (higher at the back to get the load level) 1x Thule 3080 fitting kit (from a Mazda 5) - I trimmed 17/18mm of the inner sides rubber feet using a Stanley knife and tidied up on a bench grinder. Tapering these off gets them to match the roof profile (when looking from the rear) Tested them today, so far so good, no whistling up to 80mph

POST 14Original post

thats really interesting to hear. which wingbars did you use? i see theres Edge and Evo varieties.

POST 15Original post

Here’s a photo of where I trimmed it. If you were really fancy you could match profile of the rail but I didn’t think it was necessary
