Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use a bit of cellulose thinners to remove any bits of tar off any ally parts it shifts anything, keep away from the paint work though.

I used various scrapers as can be seen below but it still leaves a film of light wax.

Any thoughts on cleaning the bolts without taking them off ?

Today i started cleaning off the old hard wax oil.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought a tin of cellulose thinners and it worked well on removing the residue left after lightly scraping the hard thick coated wax.
Today i started cleaning off the old hard wax oil. Products (white spirit / engine cleaner) i had in the garage would not touch it so i invested in some scrapers. Enjoyable and productive day as i am retired and got time on my hands. I used various scrapers as can be seen below but it still leaves a film of light wax. I'm pleased that i can now see the casting marks on the frame but as i want to get it back to alloy, does anyone know of a product that will break the wax down.

It's coming along quite nice there
I have a mix of diesel and petrol in a spray bottle as my mates wife put petrol in the diesel tank one day so we are working our way through about 4 jerry cans full
Update on removing wax.
I bought a tin of cellulose thinners and it worked well on removing the residue left after lightly scraping the hard thick coated wax. Pictures are still work in process. Any thoughts on cleaning the bolts without taking them off ? - my thoughts are to lightly sand with wet / dry then seal.
Would have been easier removing the frame and suspension but i'll struggle on. I will remove the 3 strut braces to get under them to complete the clean.
Thanks Hooner and Uncle Monty for the advice

Can you get close enough with something like these in a drill or a drill with an extension arbor type thing?
I've got them but too bulky and harsh for getting into alloy castings. I did try my Dremel but the little wire brushes wore out very quickly. Thanks for your thoughts.
Out of all the solvents I tried, cellulose was indeed the one that breaks down cosmoline most effectively.
A fine jet, high pressure steam cleaner will also do the job to a degree.
Merry Christmas to you mate and have a good festive period. I hope you also managed an hour or so in the garage today ?
I've spent hrs re- reading your posts of 40 + pages to see to your comments above. Cellulose has certainly done the job.
And to you my friend. I did manage to sneak out to the garage for a short while this afternoon, but more for a plan and prep session for the next spoiler mould endeavour. More of that tomorrow.
Nice job on the clean up - so satisfying.
