Tiellegott, my point was only showing folks the red color change on the S to see who else had done or thought of that mod.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Somewhere on the forum I had seen where someone redid the S on the rear badge in red. I liked the look and decided to do it to mine. Used a duplicolor universal red touch up applicator from Autozone. I am not sure if any other models came stock with the red, but i think it adds a little to the otherwise dull gray. Here is the result on my midnight blue.
Sorry, Dude, but this looks horrible!
The Color seems to be too thick and the brush is too hard, so it looks like you put it on with fingerpaint from Kindergarten...
Ouch! Believe me, from two feet away, you don't see any of that roughness, I know you doomed in. But you're right about the small brush and how it applied. I wasn't happy with it. It is getting redone with a smoother topcoat applied with wider brush that should provide a smoother finish. I was more referencing the color.
Customizing is always fun IMO. Good for you!!!! You'll get it the way you want it and be happy. I took a lot of crap from some people when I made some 'visual modifcations' on my baby and could care less. Get it the way you want it. I like the red.
I bought new satin black emblems for my 2002 C4S with plans to paint the "S" a different color. After debadging I loved the look and kept it that way...
I get the clean look as a good option also. I had a 986 boxster and the rear badges were removed. Heard that was pretty common 2ith Boxsters. I'm going to refinish the S with a proper prep and brush. It will match the red calipers nicely.
I removed my "Carrera" badge on my factory deck and replaced it with a black "911" badge.
I preferred that look.
But when I got my taco wing, the plan was to add a black "911" but I decided I liked it de-badged.
When I got the GT3RS style deck/wing, I never thought about adding anything, until I added the GT3RS-style "4.0" decal.
I generally like de-badged.
If I get a Boxster, I'll likely de-badge as well. (Or swap for a "986" badge)
Tiellegott, my point was only showing folks the red color change on the S to see who else had done or thought of that mod. I was well aware of the rough result on my first pass and have sanded and redone with a larger brush. The kindergarten, fingerprint commentary was a bit uncalled for. Let's drop it.
Instead of hey that looks cool or something of that sort you had to zoom in on the picture so you could make a negative comment. That is what was rude.
