So, today is the day my arches are getting a deep clean and these are the first few pics for you, i must say Elliot of BH Automotive Detailing is doing a sterling job - he has used about 5 different cleaners and degreasers to get to this point with dwelling and agitation time too................I am far too excited about how well this looks.......................

Suggestion
Depending on how i take to this project the next will be to pop off all the under trays and steam clean anything needed before protecting elements that need it - most likely this will be with Dynax UC to keep a clear finish but as i said i have a similar product to lanoguard that i bought from the NEC classics show so can cover some areas with that too if needed.
Leading evidence: 'Use about 5 different cleaners and degreasers' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean anything needed' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Hi - i am currently organising for this over winter - got a detailer booked to do a deep clean on them next week then will let them dry fully for a week or so with heat in the garage then will do the following - i even got to chat with Pete Hamber (off of Bilt Hamber) to check i have the best method, and will be doing the following.

I was recommended ACF-50 by a mechanic friend - seems to do the same job as Lanoguard

I would recommend having some primer to hand in the event you need to grind back any spots of surface rust exposing bare metal.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking for advise on what product you use to protect your arches, the rears seem to like to collect dirt and trap moisture. A quick search throws up Lanoguard, but Interested to hear what others use?

Strip arches and get thoroughly cleaned and allow to fully dry.
Precautionary coat of Hydrate 80 - although Pete said it shouldnt be necessary (but while i'm in there......)
Then I have some stone chip paint so depending what I find I will be applying a coat of this - it cant harm
Then a couple of coats of Dynax S50 (for areas that need a clear coat it will be Dynax UC)
Treat the wheel arch liners with some Gtechniq C4 trim restorer
Pop wheel arch liners back on with new fixings where needed
Never drive it in the rain again - only kidding!!!!
The above will have a far longer lasting effect that the lanolin based products - i bought some of this for the job but then researched a more robust method.
Hope that helps.
That's a great guide for people. As you say not all the steps/products are essential but I agree with you amd think "whilst you're in there" is always a worthwhile approach.
Let us know how you get on?
will do - i am planning on getting her in the air on my new (only tested to date) kwiklift thing so wheels off and i can work from under the car to get in to the outside edge of the arch. And to do it over several visits to let each coating cure fully
Planning plenty of floor covering and also mask the lip of the arch so its like a curtain outside - and ordered a couple of those led headbands to go with the other lighting in place.

I picked up some hydrate 80 and dynax uc from opie oils with the recent sale, it might still be on?
(Also got lots of fluids too to qualify for free postage)
It does, it's easier to apply but it's not as long lasting in fact underneath a car it might not last the winter. It's OK if the parts covered by panels and not directly exposed to the elements. If they're accessible, and therefore it can be reapplied it could work but I would say Lando and UC etc would last better.
I would recommend having some primer to hand in the event you need to grind back any spots of surface rust exposing bare metal. Bilt Hamber Electrox is very good. You can then put your stone chip paint over the top
Agreed! I ground back a whole bunch of spots from my rear arches, especially around the bottom. I then used a rust preventing etch primer, applied by brush in a liberal coat. Stone chip on top of this.
Use Dynax UB for the arch lips (a real rust trap on these cars) as it is more durable than UC, but black / brown rather than translucent. Apply in 2-3 coats for optimal adhesion, protection and durability (should last 5 years under the arch protectors).
Either UC or UB is better, and longer lasting than Lanoguard.

Don't mean to tell you how to suck eggs but do make sure all the degreasing stuff is completely washed off, and the underside bone dry before applying the UB or UC. Both will reduce adhesion - something Bilt Hamber warn about in their videos.
