Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all! I searched but cannot find a similar situation to mine.. The cruise control in my '99 996 Tiptronic is not working. When I turn it on (with the switch at the end of the stalk), the green light comes on, but I can't get it to engage. Also, strangely when I pull the stalk towards myself, the light goes off.. Both my 3rd brake lights are original with all bulbs working, and being an automatic, I don't have a clutch switch. If someone could shed some light on what would be the next best thing to check, I would be super grateful!

POST 2Original post

do your brake lights work? as in not stay on the whole time? I have a wiring diagram that I highlighted for my tiptronic to manual swap on my 996.2...maybe that will be of some help.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks a lot, that looks super useful, I'll poke around tomorrow! Yeah the brake lights do work properly. I also tested the automatic switching when the rear spoiler is raised..
