Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I am changing the third party double-DIN head unit of a previous owner in a 987.2 base Cayman with Bose , and this is the harness (the orange Bose line is separate and out of frame). Does this look like the OEM harness? I haven't been able to find a good photo of what to expect! Thank you.

I'm more used to looking at the male side of the plug, so I can't say for sure. That's pretty close to what I remember. The OEM harness uses a generic plug called QuadLock. You should be able to find a picture of it. I know Don ( @deilenberger ) purchased the "car side" of the connector when he needed to extend his harness. It is a common connector for many German brands. You can likely purchase an aftermarket kit which includes the OEM adapter to make it easier to integrate other radios.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - read the article in the link at the top of the page about posting photos... your photo is HUGE., No one is viewing this on an 85" 4k monitor. That resolution and fuzzy background simply aren't needed. Please read the article. THANKS! And welcome to Planet-9. That connector doesn't look like any stock one I've seen. Was that plugged into the double-din directly or with an adaptor cable? PS, This is what the photo should look like: Shows us what we need to see and no distractions, and loads quickly. Please read the article - that took me about 30 seconds to do, and I never closed the edit screen here.

Understood! It rendered fine on my humble monitor for some reason but I will double check next time.
