I almost always run with my headlights on, so I'm just in the habit of turning on and off my lights.

I missed my BMW 135i's triple turn signal feature when I upgraded to my 996. It's surprising how much you miss such a little thing like that, but it was really nice in freeway traffic. I would be interested in triple flash turn signals if it were not expensive or involved to implement. I almost always run with my headlights on, so I'm just in the habit of turning on and off my lights. I didn't really miss having automagic/DRL. I actually like having more control over my headlights. I've seen DRL cause starting issues that otherwise would not be as big an issue.

Depending on the year of your 996, the DRL function may be an option accessed using PIWIS. If you car did not have the option from the factory, here is a very simple hack that enables the headlamps as soon as the igniton key is turned on: https://web.archive.org/web/20080729...ster/mods/drl/
