Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just purchased my first 996. I've been fascinated by the 911 in general ever since I was young. My dad had a beautiful 996 back in 2015 before buying a classic SC. I loved them both. The smell of the inside of my new car is exactly the same as his one. Takes me back. Anyway, here it is... last owner had it garaged for 10 years. It is a low mileage early dual row IMS example and it even featured in an auto express magazine used 996 buyers guide. I think I've found a gem. Bring on the summer weather.

Welcome to the forum. You're on the right site for all 996 info. If you haven't already done so, get a file going for the car with all receipts, service history etc plus a copy of the Auto Express mag. Enjoy it. Rog
