Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i was helping my friend replace his alternator, and battery. The hood and trunk managed to get closed, and since both are electric, im wondering how i can get to the manual release or to the fuse that powers the solenoids so i can manually pop the lids. i can just hook power to the lighter outlet since the alternator lead is resting on the block and according to the crappy wiring diagram i have there is no main fuse link, so i cant just jump the car and sacrifice the fuse. My diagram also does not include a schematic that has either solenoid or their switches. based on the disassembly guide there is a manual release somewhere, possibly in the drivers fender well area?? if its under the tail light how do you remove it with the trunk closed if anyone has a schematic with the hood/trunk circuits that would be great Thanks

POST 2Original post

There IS a manual release in the front, supposedly accesed through the right front fender well as I have never tried.....supposedly visible as well when headlight assy. is removed.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

got it figured out, the front release is in front of the passenger wheel and the rear is behind the drivers wheel

POST 4Original post

Where in front of the front passenger wheel is the manual hood release? Up high, down low? Is there a lever... Your help is appreciated.
