I had them check the camber and they adjusted it a little more, but they're recommendation is to fill up the new tires with nitrogen also.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been an issue lately with my cab eating up the inside of the rear tires. My latest set of hard compound tires only lasted a little over 10k miles. The tire place told me that these cars are cambered for the race track and that is about all I'm gonna get from rear tires. I don't like that response. I had them check the camber and they adjusted it a little more, but they're recommendation is to fill up the new tires with nitrogen also. Any ideas??? E

POST 2Original post

Our customers get anything up to 15k from Michelins rears. What size wheel tire combination are you using? Stock or modifed suspension? Street or track alignment? What brand of tire? Does your alignment shop understand Porsche vehicles and what type of alignment equipment are they using. What does your Porsche repair shop say about this? Nitrogen won't change tire wear.

POST 3Original post

You can always change your alignment. Maybe the previous owner had it set up for some aggressive driving. Have your local dealer check the alignment. Scott

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the good information guys. Yeah, I didn't think Nitrogen would have much of an effect on tire wear, but it couldn't hurt. At this point, I have it cambered down to the least aggressive stance. My Porsche dealer said it is normal for them to eat up tires. I guess that's the nature of the beast. My plan now is to rotate left to right at 5K miles. That will bring the inside to the outside and may extend life of the tire a bit. Thanks again... E

POST 5Original post

Depending on your tires, you probably won't be able to do that as some are inside/outside only and directional. Hence, your rear right is always your rear right. Cheers Aaron
