Just wondering if any went for the Extended Navigation option?
Zuksh
Nope, was told by the sales guy it wasn't worth the extra
Yeah... that was my fault I guess... I took the sales people's advice and dropped that option. In fact, they explained to me that the extended nav option costs ANOTHER 3k on top of the 3k you have to pay for the standard nav. So I definitely wasn't interested then... but it later turned out (after it was too late for me to change the options on my car) that it was just a difference of 120 bucks! I was (still am) annoyed about that.
From what i've read, you get extra features on the navigation, such as navigation in areas not covered by the navigation software (new roads etc), a digital compass... and some more stuff... but here's the best bit: you get a piece of software that you load onto your laptop which allows you to 'sync' with your car using infrared where you can edit waypoints, routes... etc... as well as download the electronic log book...
I'd have gone for it for sure. Did anyone get it?

owner you learn that your first order is going to be perfect and that you must read that order guide like a law manual!
thanks for the info.
even more [/quote]food for thought!
I ordered it, but sales manager told me it was only available in Cayenne, and car came without it. Didn't know about the usefulness of the logbook until I read the owner's manual (after getting the car) and wish I'd gotten that too. Is it possible to have the PCM module updated to include these after delivery?
I was told by the chief mechanic (donno if that's his title, but I think that's what he is) here that it's simply a different DVD. i.e. there's no physical module or change/update in the software version of the PCM. Just the DVD.... however the salesman told me he thinks it's an extra Module... I donno who to believe quite frankly! They seem to know very little about the cars they sell.
I'm surprised that your dealer told you it's only available on Cayenne!!! It's clearly stated as an option on the options list... Your dealer seems worse than mine!
Anyway the latest I got back from my dealer is that the Extended Navigation DVD can only be purchased
seperately
in 2007!!!!i.e. if you didn't order it with the car... you'll have to wait until 2007... Ironically, that info came after they had quoted me $500 (daylight robbery)to get it!... I donno what to do with them.
