I like the 89 and older 911s, and will be looking for a 1974 thru 1989, I believe these years will hold there value if things should change for me.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just bought an early 996--Tiptronic, 2 wd, non turbo, like new, low miles. I plan to make it my daily driver. I like the "jellybean" styling starting with the 993s. I noticed that prices of 993s seem to have stabilized, in fact my 996 cost less than a similar 993. I guess the last air cooled car has some collector value already, and they weren't made for very many years. Question: What is the difference in the driving experience between a 993 and 996? engine sound of course but what else?

POST 2Original post

Steering feel, seating position, handling, acceleration, visceral differences, braking, balance, heat/ac. in short just about EVERYTHING is different froma 993 to a 996!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guess I just need to get a 993 some day...

POST 4Original post

I bought my low mileage {2500 miles} just like new 2000 996 C2 6Spd Cab 10 months ago. I will use it for general all around driving and its a car my wife can drive if she ever chooses to. I am looking for an air cooled 911 to use for a fun/weekend toy. I like the 89 and older 911s, and will be looking for a 1974 thru 1989, I believe these years will hold there value if things should change for me.
