Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

We heard that it was a zoo on the 14th when ordered cars were delivered and test drives were going on and ads brought in lots of new and interested people that a lot of normal things were not done.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Does anyone know how to program the door lock to lock when the ignition is switch on (type 1)? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Vic, I thought the dealer had to do that? I could be wrong. Russ

POST 3Original post

Wow, and wow... threre seem to be so many things the dealer forgot to do, or forgot to ''splain' to the buyer. We heard that it was a zoo on the 14th when ordered cars were delivered and test drives were going on and ads brought in lots of new and interested people that a lot of normal things were not done. Still, the offer was made for us to come back (25miles RT), and more could be explained. For us, there will be a lot of that (return to dealer) for lots of reasons. We did not even know there was a way to program the door lock, perhaps a vital thing... we still do not know much about the features of our Turbo. We will watch this space for more answers.

POST 5Original post

Yep, unless you get the PCM, the dealer has to do the programming on the doors etc. Our dealer tried but was unable to get to the mode I was looking for, so they said they will try again next time I am in, which is Thurs. to get door sill light & cup holder fixed.

POST 6Original post

I think I'll keep the default setting for now. I just dread taking my car to the dealer and thought their was a way to DIY. Thank you all for your responses.

POST 7Original post

with pcm go to the main menu and press set, then go to car settings and you can do a few things there, like locks, DRL and other stuff.

POST 8Original post

Curiously, there is a mode mentioned in the owner's manual, one that I had programed in my Boxster S, which is not actually available. The missing mode would lock the doors on "ignition on" and if you opened a door, would re-lock once the vehicle started moving. This cannot be programed via the PCM, and my service department says its also missing on their computer to program it....

POST 9Original post

Actually... You'll only be able to modify that setting yourself if you PCM and Sportschrono package... I have PCM but no sportschrono while my friend has both in his car. I was shocked to see that he had a few extra menus on his PCM that had NOTHING to do with 'sportiness'... e.g. control the auto-lock... adujsting the 'orientation light intensity', orpersonalising settings (such as A/C) according to which Key you use... WHAT THE HELL do any of those features have to do with 'Sports Chrono'?!?!?!... I guess this should go under the complaints section... Oh, and to top it up... the dealer failed to explain this at the time of placing the order. Zuksh
