Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I tried releasing fluid, soap, chain oil but no luck so far., i can get a ring spanner on the cover because of the shape and hold the neck using plyers but i'm at the point of the rubber tearing.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have aluminium valve covers (or dust caps as we used to call them) on all my tyres and one of them is stuck fast. I tried releasing fluid, soap, chain oil but no luck so far., i can get a ring spanner on the cover because of the shape and hold the neck using plyers but i'm at the point of the rubber tearing. I'm also right up against my lovely wheels with the plyers because the neck is quite small which makes it hard to hold tight. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Migration info. Legacy thread was 43695

Can you find any way of applying gentle heat to it? Migration info. Legacy thread was 43716
