Forgot to mention that I pulled my venerable Valentine 1 out of storage and hooked it up this afternoon. It felt right. It needed a new home. Ithooks upquite nicely in the socket on the right hand side of the console under the glove box. So much so that its not enough of a distraction that I feel compelled to hard wire it in. I 'm feeling my way around in the car discovering all these neat little hidy holes and such. I honestly haven't taken the time to read the manual yet, just the quick reference guide. I've been to busy driving. I'll have a little over 300 miles under my belt when I tuck her in for the night. I love this car!
kbs911 - I sense you are letting out all that pent-up emotion from waiting......
Santa Fe,
It's that obvious huh? OK I admit it. I'd post more but I'm off for my final ride of the day! /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/regular_smile.gif
It's true. I'm normally a techno junkie and would have finished reading the PCM manual the first night, but 1 week and 500 miles later, I have yet to crack open that book.
Gotta love the V1,
Definitely saved me from a few tickets during my cross country trip last year. In particular through parts of Montanna and Colorado.

amro,
Right there with you. No excuses, I should be reading the manual instead of typing this, but i get such good info here. 356 miles this weekend, my first. Right now I'm trying to make a decision on what brand of wax to use, already ordered my microfiber towels from autotopia, and look up the jacking points so i can remove my wheels and clean and apply the wheel wax and extreme black tire dressing I found on this site. So many things to do.....so little time!
KBS911, almost 400 miles this weekend. You did good! When you remove the wheels a soft socket helps protect the wheel bolts and of course the wheel hanger is really needed to re-mount the wheel without damage to the brakes or the back..

How about a walkthrough of the installation for us who aren't so handy? Would be appreciated

The wheel hanger bolt can be purchased from Porsche (I got mine overnight) or from Boothe.A singlesoft socket also can be purchased from Boothe or a complete set from

By the way I passed on wheel spacers for a couple of reasons; most racers I talked tocould not offer any benefit but did not like the increased weight and the ones(5mm) Porsche sells didn't seem to offer any appearence benefits.
