Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Want to have a look at fitting a PSE myself. Can anyone recommend a step by step account of how to remove the rear bumper from a 996. These things are usually very easy to do if you know where all the little clips are that hold the damn things on. I have done it on other cars - and there is always one or two annoying clips that you can't find and end up breaking them. Some explanatory photo's would be good too if possible.

POST 2Original post

Why take the rear bumper off? Exhaust boxes drop off. The fixing clamps on the tips are a bit awkward and need a socket with extender bar. I would have thought that taking the bumper off with the attendant risks to the finish and the fixing clips, outweighs crawling under the car to loosen the boxes!
