My wife hated this car, she couldn't understand why I bought it modified it, DE'd it and replaced two engines in it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

33 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Sure why not? Take a look at the dyno plot for my 4.0L single turbo. I'm so disappointed that we didn't make 600HP at the wheels. I'll just have to be satisfied with a very smooth curve and 576 HP & 533 lb/ft @ 12PSI boost! LOL Just kidding of course, Vision says the timing and knock sensors are conservative and that the engine can handle more boost. I think I'm going to leave well enough alone.

POST 2Original post

Holy Schnikeys Bruce! Nearly 600 to the wheels is easily into GT2RS territory! Have fun with it, and take it easy for the first few runs. And you're definitely gonna need bigger brakes!

POST 3Original post

996 super cup calipers & disks have been added.

POST 4Original post

I Like it :dance::beer::drivingskid: They tell me they are still looking at the intakes maybe to extend the peak torque. I know, after seeing that torque curve, I am in as far as the transmission oil cooler idea. At some point you are going to have to stop the project and just drive it :gossip::crazy: Let see what they come up with. Despite all the time, they have put a great effort on the car:thanks: to the folks at Vision

POST 5Original post

Jaime, I did go with the tranny cooler and I'm glad you convinced me on the brakes! I'll talk to Dwain tomorrow and get the details.

POST 8Original post

Is it just me, or is the photograph mirrored? The rotor marked RF looks to be mounted in the LF position.

POST 9Original post

Right front would be passenger side, that seems to be the passenger side of the car. The side marker is ahead of the wheel well.

POST 11Original post

Wake me up when you reach 1000 HP, then we are talking, anything with only 3 digits for HP just isn't enough anymore... :taunt:

POST 12Original post

Love ya Ken but there always got to be one killjoy in the crowd!:taunt: This engine / turbo combo can support another 100HP but what would I do with it? Beak tranny's & axel shafts? When I get tired of it I'll go back for more. LOL

POST 13Original post

looking forward to videos of this beast at the track! Maybe even some drag strip vids too!

POST 15Original post

+1! You have to video that thing! And if possible, can you terrorize a few GT3s while you're at it?! I'd love to see the look on their faces when Monster Croc whizzes by!

POST 16Original post

There will be track videos later this summer when I head up to tracks in cooler locations. I'll also have data readouts from my Traqmate. I doubt there will be any trips to the drag strip as I don't want to donate a tranny or axles to the cause. A couple of things to keep in mind. I haven't driven on track in over a year, I'll be driving tracks I've never driven before and I drive in the highest groups with many talented drivers in race prepped cars. Corner exit speed is just as important as HP for overtaking on straights. I am by nature cautious and will ramp up slowly. I'm sure there will be some teething problems with the car, there always are. But yes I'm sure I'll have some fun with the GT3 's & Corvettes

POST 17Original post

It's only like 110 this weekend, what's the problem? Hassaan would probably consider this a cool, crisp autumn day.

POST 18Original post

oh yeah, if you need garage space I have two free bays in my garage at the moment. My neighbor has a nice 911 S Cab that's always staring at me, haha.

POST 19Original post

Outstanding stuff! :burnout: Congratulations and will be looking forward to see how the real world performance compares to others

POST 20Original post

Niceeeeeee, you beat me, nice Dyno results, i am still eating for mine, I will probably need to get an antique license plate for mine when is done :hilarious: Congrats, post some videos and let me know how it drives Cheers

POST 21Original post

Well after a year in the Hotel California the citron is home. Why do I call it the citron? My wife hated this car, she couldn't understand why I bought it modified it, DE'd it and replaced two engines in it. She called it the citron, the lemon, and picking it up today kind of opened the wound of my wife's recent death. But d*@mn, she is a sexy little b*@ch of a car! Detailed out, showing off her new big brakes, splitter & carbon fiber spoiler. But still so conservative in midnight blue metallic / sea blue interior. Starting her up her growl and idle is deeper than a 3.4L a hint of what her voice will sound like at full song. Her master awkwardly stalls twice as he feels out the new clutch. The pedal pressure just a little heavier than stock but the disk not so forgiving. Not driving a stick in over a year might have something to do with it. Off we go and the modified stock shifter is much more precise. At partial throttle immediate response, nice & linear. So the moment of truth arrive and I roll on the throttle from 2.5k in 2nd and the car loads up nicely and when it hits 4k the thrust really builds an requires an quick shift to 3rd. Really nice but not quite as epic as I expected. Well that was low boost (.6bar). So we bumped it to "hi" boost (.8bar) and repeated the test. Holy cr@p! what a difference .2bar made! About 100hp! Digging in the spurs it a GD rocket ship now! It just pulls & pulls with effortless power. It's gonna be a handful on track out! The turbo is working in the max efficiency range above .6bar and just a small change in boost makes a big change in torque & hp. Plenty of flow available to go to 1.1 bar and another 100-150hp. I think we'll wait on more boost till I have a spare tranny! So off we went to Vegas. Crusing the I 15 at 85 mph, air on, outdoor temp 116 degrees. Temp gauge @175 the whole way. Nice & civilized. I can't wait to get my revitalized dance partner to the track! PS one of the techs at Vision "Mo" said I didn't look crazy enough to drive the beast! LOL

POST 22Original post

I am soooooo jealous !!! Just try not to imitate a Vette driver and spin on the warm up lap

POST 23Original post

My good man any new feedback, any videos Cheers

POST 24Original post

It's still too hot for track & videos yet. Scheduled to go 9/14-15. Even with sticky 295 tires there is too much torque in low boost for 1st & 2nd gear. Full throttle in 2nd gear the wheels spin as the tach hit's 4,000 rpm. The car is a blast to drive, throttle response is very good and it's easy to modulate the power. Heading to Vision tonight to have a Getty RS base and wing installed.

POST 27Original post

Are you using 91 octane fuel for 8 psi? I know you are using 98 to 100 octane for high boost.

POST 28Original post

91 for low boost. If it's available I'll throw in 2 gal of 100 as a just in case

POST 29Original post

Yes, anxiously awaiting video of this beast in action! So jealous!

POST 30Original post

Phenomenal  will be amazing to drive just be careful n don't blow her up!

POST 31Original post

Dear lord, that is ridiculous power. How much has all this work run? Do I even want to know?

POST 32Original post

Less expensive and faster than a Turbo S!

POST 33Original post

My good man, what di you do to the transmition to handle the power, I already had some issues with mine and according to the tuner it got re enforced Cheers
