I just purchased a 987.1 CS to use primarily as track car. It doesn’t have PASM or Sport Chrono , which I figured was fine since I’m replacing the suspension and a PO had a Porsche Dealership tune the DME to give it Sport throttle response. I took it out for it’s first HPDE weekend. Loved it, but the PSM was too intrusive. Is it possible to get that reprogrammed to be Porsche ’s Sport setting? (My previous car had PASM , and sport mode was ideal for me). I know I could just turn it off, but I’m fairly new (I run in the blue group at PCA HPDEs).

I think there are lots of folks who wish the PSM could be throttled or adjusted on the 987. Some folks would like to have it completely off which is not possible since the PSM will kick in even if turned off. Unfortunately, from what I understand that is only possible by replacing a ton of electronics. I believe it might even be the ECU. I’m curious about the tires you are running? You might have less PSM interference if you run stickier tires.

Thanks for the info. I'm running Potenza RE-71RS, and they're pretty sticky. If better traction will help, then hopefully the MCS system and adjustable LCAs that I'm installing soon will help.

Hopefully, the MCS and some better camber will improve the contact patch and improve traction. I use the same tires and really like them.
