My 95K mile
2010 Boxster base
was in for an oil change and I was informed that my bump stops and spring mounts are deteriorating. I'm going to address these
next
month, and figure I'll go ahead and do new struts and springs.
I don't track my
Boxster
, so I'd like some suggestions on a good street setup to replace the OEM pieces. A slight drop would be fine, but I don't want to worry about scraping over speed bumps.
I appreciate your insights.
I just finished a 100% new suspension parts using R springs and
Koni
Sports. couldn't be happier.
This would be the equivalent of putting
Spyder
suspension in yours. Rides fine, a bit stiffer but not uncomfortable. Corners like crazy.
Randy Pobst likes the suspension....
Of course I dont have the HP or the limited slip.
Carnewal sells a spring/ damper package at a great price.
Does splash my Starbucks out of that little hole in the lid and it didnt do that before the suspension work....but so far thats my only downside. Virginia back roads are a non issue. You do have to navigate speed bumps more carefully.
Thanks for your reply Ric_in_RVA. I really appreciate your feedback on your new setup. It sounds exactly like what I'm interested in. The 25mm drop front and rear should not make my
Boxster
drag on the speed bumps I commonly deal with.
Did you source yours from Carnewal? If so, what was the shipping cost like?
Thanks again,
Mike
Looking for a decent price on "R" Springs (as most others have more than 20/25mm drop.)
Whish I could find a better price. (FCP seems best for shipping and
Delaware Porsche
is I can pick up.)
I got the springs new from PCA mart for sale ad for $400 bucks... The shocks I got from Carnewal and pricing was great. Was still less with shipping than what was available in the US...but check the exchange rate. Shipped in maybe 3-4 days total!!
Most of the other parts came from england at
Porsche Spare Parts, Upgrades & Accessories - Spyder Performance
Black friday sale right now...15% off.
Use code BLACK15 at checkout.
I got a few things from FCP euro too. I did literally every single moving part except the rear toe rods. (Primarily because I forgot order them but will likely go to a ball jointed link soon)
Car is fantastic to drive and really rails the corners. The adjustable rebound is nice too. I have them set soft right now but it is not floaty at all. Cranked down it is very taught. car is on 18" S wheels and Micheline PS4 all seasons.
I picked up the
Spyder
Performance suspension kit on Halloween at 17% off. Looking at
Porsche
Delaware for the springs (About $465) and
Koni Special Active
from
Koni
for about $770.
Still need to figure out the various spring seats and spacers.
I'm about to post some rebuilt KW Clubsport coilovers in the classifieds that were about $5k new that drop right in
I’ve been grappling with either the KW V3’s or PSS9 setup. I’m leaning toward the PSS9 since I only track the car 6-8 times a year, but drive it to work around 200 days a year. I might add beefier sway bars to reduce body roll.
@Xalsx
- take a look below, mine are available:

There another thread selling the kw v3’s for $2500. Is that your thread also? I can’t PM anyone on this forum yet. Don’t know why. I guess I dont have enough post history or something.
@Xalsx
No - those sold.
Mine are still available - can text me at my google number since there are a lot of spammers on here: Seven 7 3, seven 9 8, two five 9 8
