Mine is the only Spyder I have ever heard of with that combination of attributes and the fuel tank was only fitted by accident, discovered when I had cruise retro fitted!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
24 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

not really they all had PASM and no diff till later option which very few had.
And PASM on does not really work on UK roads at all.
If fitted to the car, PASM is always on.

What about a 987.1 3.2 with a low pressure turbo?

Not really, I have had a PASM car and my mate has a PASM car, when it's on you know about it.
Yes it adjusts on it's own, but on is very much more on :-p

It's an active system. It's always working, you just set the damping parameter.

It makes it not quite as good as this

Quite possible that they mean this engine will be introduced for the next all new model rather than the face lift. There again the 987.2 got the DFI unit, although this new engine change is much more of a change. Who knows..

I see your 6-pot $1.2m 904 and raise you a 4-banger $3.14m RSK718:

RIght up my street; near 400bhp (as there's no need to handicap a 4-pot), a bit lighter and ~40mpg.
What's not to like?

The words "up to" 400ps will apply. So much like the Macan, I reckon that there is every chance that the same engine will be offered in a range of tune. I suspect 320, 360, 400 for Cayman, S and GTS respectively with an artificial -10ps for the equivalent Boxsters... Sound right to you guys?
Surely the next thing would be for the rumour mill to suggest that the next iteration of 911s will all be derived flat 6 turbos...?
As for what's not to like - surely we have to wait and see, but as long as it doesn't strangle the soundtrack too much it isn't necessarily destined to be a bad thing.
And for those championing some kind of classic status for the 987 R as an end of the line turning point - surely all that is has over the just announced Cayman GTS (available with non-PASM dampers and 20mm lower ride height for no extra charge) is that it's power steering is not electric and you had the option to delete the stereo and carry less fuel?
You forgot the go faster stripe. Makes no end of difference!!
I don't really agree with you, I think the 981 is a "next generation" car. It's not just the steering, it's the electronic dial in the instrument binnacle, the start stop function, hill start assist, it's just moved the game forward in a lot of ways when you add it up as a package - you can even have radar cruise!
Doesn't make the 981 a bad car, far from it but I do think the Spyder and the R mark the end of a line to some extent.
I know where you are coming from, but you could equally argue that the 987.2 was actually the beginning of that line due to the presence of the 9A1 block and option of PDK - the cross over is a touch woolly as a consequence. That said - I do see manual Spyders with buckets and the correct wheels as something a bit special with collector appeal (especially if they have the normal rather than shrunken fuel tank), though I find the Cayman R less convincing in terms of specialness (but that is just a personal thing).

The R is every thing you want a GT3 to be like on the road, and every thing you wish the new cars would feel more like.
Yes it maybe less special than the Spyder, but it's the better more complete sports car.
R will have it's place in the future as a Great drivers car, it just takes a while, but I know 5 ex gt3 owners who have made the switch.
