Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

OP, You can always check the underside of each part to make sure they are Polyurethane(except rear wing which is frp) and make sure they have the "996.xxx.xxx.xx..." part numbers stamped on them.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys I bought my 99 996 back in march and Its my first 911, I had an 86 951 and an 88 944 that I sold both of before I joined the navy. Any ways I picked this particular Porsche because I liked the aero kit on it but at the time I knew nothing of it. I had to go to the dealership today to pick up an oil cap. First time ever in a Porsche dealership since I do most of my own work and haven't had a reason yet. Well anyways I went in there and after about 15 minutes the parts department manager and a few other employees start talking to me about how awesome my Porsche is and tell me how ridiculously expensive the front bumper and wing of my car are. I thought nothing of it until now and then I started to do a little research. Anyways I was wondering what used prices are of these things and if they are worth more as a kit or separate or what. before I start drilling holes in things because im making it into a street track hybrid and plan on doing more aero of my own, I.e. carbon fiber canards, a front lip and rear diffuser, and a company in Georgia is building me a gt cup wing for it. I don't know a lot about it and was hoping you all could educate me.
I currently have d2 coilovers on it and a muffler delete, also plan to remove the cats soon. And I have aftermarket headlights that came with the car that I don't mind so much.
The kit on your car is the same that came on the MkI GT3 (not street legal in the U.S.). I'd personally be hard pressed to believe that just anyone can build a more capable aero package for the car and if they do that it would be noticeable to anyone other than a driver able to push the car to its factory limits. My point is, get some time with it as is on the track before you just dump it for something else.
The kit is made up of a few parts. You have the front bumper, a chin spoiler (missing of many cars as it tears off pretty easily, but is required for higher than street speeds), the rear wing and some came with winglets/spats that go on the bottom of the rear bumper behind the wheels. The wing is adjustable to allow you to adjust its downforce.
If you aren't in a hurry you can pick up a used Taco around $500 and I think $1500 is the high mark I have seen. The front bumper is a bit more coveted as it is generally considered better looking than the non-aero bumper, but I don't know what they go for. Most people don't like the look of the winglets so they would be a hard sell, but may be a cheap pick up. No idea what they sell for used.
My advice if you really want to do a wholesale change is to remove the existing bits and start fresh. If your car came with the AK from the factory, put them aside for any potential resale down the road. If not, sell away
I only run one wiper like the euro gt3 cars. I was doing around 150 on the 101 and the noise coming from it bothered my so i did the delete and the noise went away. Also the arm literally bent
Looks like an aero front bumper to me.

As for the wing, sticker doesn't mean squat. You need to make sure you have the engraving underneath. Most of them will have a "Made in France" engraving. However some won't but should have all the other engraving like the part# intact.
Actually I think that has more to do with either when it was built or who assembled it. We ordered the Aerokit and have the winglets, but I know of at least one other Aero car (a 00) where the exact same box was checked and that car didn't come with them.
Did you forget about the Spats thread already?
Seems to be OEM. As far as price, I've seen them avg'ing $1200-$2500 in the past with $1500 being a sweet spot to move in a reasonable time.
The "Rear GT Trims" also are more for style IMO as they didn't come on any mk1 GT3 as a standard item.
Anybody know what option XAE is?? It's not in the option code decryptor. I have the gt3/aero front bumper & side skirts, no rear bumper fins and the Carrera static rear spoiler?? Factory or not??
The spats are not any "truer" of an Aero car than one without them. Mine is a '98 build, XAA-coded car without the spats.
In saying that though, I do love the look of the spats and wish mine came with that additional option.
the rear spats are ehh. I think I could engineer rear canards from abs plastic that would look good. But In the future I will have a rear dtm style diffuser made for it as well. working with the help of an east coast guy to make it
Should have an XAA if the Aerokit was factory installed. However, the parts were available to the dealers and many added the Aerokit from factory parts at the dealership. My guess would be that this was a dealer installed Aerokit.
Neither the front nor the rear is Porsche TURBO oe aero kit. I believe they were available oe for the 911 996 Carrera.
Here is the oe turbo aero kit, the set was $7980.
