Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. I found this out because I thought my dash light bulbs were not working and it turned out the white dial sticker wasn't fitted 100%.

I ended up replacing the dials by fitting guards red for the central rev counter and white for the dials to the left and right.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
I've noticed a lot of cars with white dial backgrounds on the forum but my 2004 C4S cab tip has all black dials; does the dial colour signify anything or are white/coloured backgrounds optional or after market?
Thanks
Welcome to the forum.
The white dials are usually for an S/ 4S and the base one comes in black from factory. You can make your choice of yellow and red too
A friend of mine has 3 sets of gen 2 dials in red with MPH speedo's for sale if anyone is interested £80 a set.
(Due to a ***** up on his gen 1 order)
He also has 2 sets with KPH speedo which he would be willing to just sell the rev counter dial on there own if anyone wishes just to change that. £40 each
If interested PM me and I can pass his contact detail on to you.
Just the faces NOT the complete VDO dial assembly..They are the same material as the originals.. I will post a pic to show the colour later..Just waiting for him to send me the pic
The white dial is actually sticker stuck over the black dial at the factory. I found this out because I thought my dash light bulbs were not working and it turned out the white dial sticker wasn't fitted 100%. This is what took me Reap Automotive Design who pealed off the white stickers to reveal the black dials. I ended up replacing the dials by fitting guards red for the central rev counter and white for the dials to the left and right.
I have wanted white dials in my 997.1 forever and saw on FB a guy who makes to oem spec what ever colour and variable you might like , so took the plunge and ordered a white set. Took a few weeks to arrive but was impressed with the purchase.
I few days ago I watch a video of how to remove the binnacle and dismantle. Lots of slow work easing off all the clips with gloves and very happy with results. Not sure if I should keep originals or sell.
