This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was thinking of upgrading my very cheap OBD2 to a Foxwell. Is it possible to use this for dashboard coding? Specifically enabling the OBC on the cluster? Or would I need a full-on PIWIS setup?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Actually, having done a bit more research comparing iCarsoft Por 4.0 and Foxwell NT it seems that the newest NT710 does a lot of work for the price, and I can download softwre for my other cars. If it can't code the cluster, it's not going to cost a lot for a specialist to do it for me I guess.

POST 3Original post

I'm pretty sure for coding you're going to need Durametric or PIWIS. iCarsoft and Foxwell devices reset but not rewrite in my experience. Most Porsche independent will do a coding like you describe for a small fee (Dove House in Rushden actually did my cruise activation FOC about 6 years ago!). Whilst they are in there ask them to switch on cruise too, just in case you decide to add that in the future as well.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. I already have CC and the 4-stalk cluster - its literally just moving the OBC display from the PCM1 to the dashboard. I'll get a Foxwell anyway and get the coding done at a specialist.

POST 5Original post

I have a Durametric and a Foxwell NT530, I can check if you can let me know what I'm looking for.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks .. not sure what you;d look for though. It wiould be in the instrument cluster module I guess
