My exhaust boxes are split and now looking for replacements can any one recommend new ones I want the sound to be as close to the original as possible without the cost of original?

The PSE originals are the best sounding 996 exhaust IMO but at £3.5k for a replacement set, doesn’t make financial sense.

My car has PSE from factory so the switching is integrated with this, but if your car didn't come with that you can use a remote control on the key fob.

On my 996.2 4S I have the Desigtek switchable silencers.
My car has PSE from factory so the switching is integrated with this, but if your car didn't come with that you can use a remote control on the key fob.
I recommend these silencers. On quiet mode they are just a bit wufflier than stock and very well mannered, but in open mode there sound absolutely insane on throttle above 3500rpm.

from Design Tek. Loud and drony. Don't recommend. I need to do some more work on the exhaust in the future and will look to replacing them.

I’ll be replacing mine soon so have done a ton of research, reading forums and lots of YouTube watching soundclips of various aftermarket exhausts. Now I appreciate that it’s hard to capture a true exhaust sound on a video, but to my ears the Milltek exhausts come closest to the PSE sound. They do a non valved version:

I can thoroughly recomend TopGear silencers for quality, fit and value. If you're looking to replicate the original sound as closely as possible, their 'mild' silencers are a notch above standard, without sounding like an aftermarket exhaust.
