My car has come back from service having lost its setting to auto-lock the doors as you set off and I understand that it requires a trip to dealer for them to fix.

I tried to get it added and the (independent) servicing agent said it took ages cos they had to unload the engine computer and then reload it again with the door setting switched on.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car has come back from service having lost its setting to auto-lock the doors as you set off and I understand that it requires a trip to dealer for them to fix. Any ideas why the setting might have got lost and why Porsche didn't see fit to make it a user setting?
They must have reloaded the engine map / computer. I tried to get it added and the (independent) servicing agent said it took ages cos they had to unload the engine computer and then reload it again with the door setting switched on. A lot of hassle (and expense) for something so simple.
That's absolute tosh they are telling you! It takes less than 5 minutes, and has nothing to do with engine mapping. Your independent doesn't know what he is talking about.

Thanks Richard, in the finish I took it to the dealer but still 3 hours out of my Saturday morning I could have done without. Pity the PST2's are not available on ebay!
