Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

mark the pump before removal so that its fitted back the same way ..
Leading evidence: 'Install back the same way' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'most relevant place right now' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean surfaces and refit' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Posting here, I figure it's probably the most relevant place right now to discuss.

I would just clean the surfaces and refit with a new seal but you can use a sealant if you wish .

@deMort (or others), do you know if this one can be replaced whilst the subframe is in place?

Hi Guys, I've a small drip from the drivers side rear scavenger pump, it's all dry above, seems to be coming from the bottom of the plate (the one with 4 mounting bolts, 4 Allen screws) I've nipped them up and it only happens once the car has been run (obviously once the oil is being transferred)

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is there an o ring/seal that might need replacing? Will I need to drop oil to take pump off? Or should I just buy a new pump?
Any help appreciated ðŸ‘
Cheers MC, think I've just watched your video?! Do I need to drain the oil out of the system? Do I need to use any sealant on plate face? Found the O ring part number 99970755440
Cheers ðŸ‘
Just a heads up .... mark the pump before removal so that its fitted back the same way ..
I would just clean the surfaces and refit with a new seal but you can use a sealant if you wish .
loctite 5900 .. it's pretty much over kill for something like this but it will certainly seal it ... hell with that stuff you could reuse the original seal !!
I tend to prefer a type of Porsche white grease these days but its expensive and not really needed with something like this .
Its above the oil level so no .. did it with a tandem pump on a 987 on friday ... didn't get soaked ... same thing as it's a duel scavenge / vacuum pump .
It's about 1 inch above the oil level .
Posting here, I figure it's probably the most relevant place right now to discuss. I have a leak from what I think is the o-ring too, except mine is from the scavenge pump on the passenger side, which is right next to the aluminium subframe.
@deMort (or others), do you know if this one can be replaced whilst the subframe is in place?
Any other ideas what it might be (it's definitely not the AOS from what I can see, it looks very dry up there!)

It can be done in situ, but as you say there isn't room to take it out by just unbolting it, so you need to remove the camshaft cover to get it off. Looks like much more of a pain TBH.
