Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Almost unfathomable to me, but I came across this today in another forum: 40% of the C6 corvette owners have been STRANDED by their car! I'm in here reading about how 'upset' the Porsche owners are because the floor mats are a bit caddywonkas and those lads are sitting on the side of the highway calling a tow truck. by the way, 175 results is 'statistically significant', meaning its a good sample size. No wonder GM is about to go under. Paul Note: sorry, the table didn't format properly so I removed it. Results were 70 'stranded' and 105 'not stranded'. Edited by - Devo on 03/01/2006 12:38:51 PM

They actually have a name for it..........DBS (Dead Battery Syndrome) probably makes up 75% of those numbers. I had a C6 and sold it after 5,800 miles.....never happened to me thank god. Value was falling like a stone. They are giving the C6's away ($7-9K off MSRP). On the other hand the Z06 is $5-30K over MSRP.......Idiots

POST 3Original post

My neighbor purchased one in May of last year, <o ></o >
He has had the ABS replaced, the engine replaced and the computer that controls the Keyless entry/start system replace. Great 10 month record. Things like this are why I cant understand why people put the vette in the same category as the Porsche
.

And, on the other hand more than 80% of all the Porsches EVER BUILT since #001 in 1947 are still on the road... brad

POST 6Original post

Too many gizmos and electronic gremlins. To be fair to GM, Mercedes has had some really horrible electrical problems as well as glitches with their 7 speed auto tranny. There are quite a few 'lemon law' MBs out there for sale. Porsche has, at least for now, passed on the iDrive and similar 'gizmos for the sake of gizmos' add ons. Still, I was a little surprised by how much more electronic control is present on the Cayman than even my 99 Boxster, let alone my 83 Mercedes. Edited by - DaveC on 04/25/2006 10:30:29 AM
