Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Very minor compliant, but a disappointment nonetheless: Apparently the 6-disc changer I purchased cannot play MP3s. Only the in-dash CD does that, so I'm limited to one at a time and find that I do not use changer as much as I'd hoped. Kind of a silly limitation I think. On the plus side, Porsche includes a nift 3-disc holder that is built into the glove compartment.

POST 3Original post

You play MP3s in the single CD player that is in the dash by putting in a CD that you have burned MP3s to. You have to have PCM to do it though. Otherwise you don't have MP3 playback capability. Also: If you read your option list carefully, the 6-Disc CD Changer option stated that MP3 playback could only be done while using the main head unit (deck). This is normal. Shane

So this doesn't work with only the Bose System (non- PCM )?

epeter01: did you say your has a 3-CD holder in the glove compartment?! I can only see two in mine! The CD Changer doesn't play MP3s, on cars with PCM can play MP3s when a CD is placed in the head unit. So Bose Speakers or not is not the deciding factor here. When I learnt about the the fact the CD Changer doesn't play MP3s, I dropped that option and I'm so glad I did. Because from what I read,if you add aniPod through MOST kit, you will have to disable the CD Changer... so that money would have gone to waste. Zuksh

You're right: it's a 2-CD holder! I guess in my head I've been counting the in-dash itself since I have a total of three CDs in the car. If I were to order again I would probably not get the 6 disc changer. Those three MP3 CDs that I keep in my car have a lot more than 6 albums on them.
