Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Puddle of water developed under the front left of the car this morning after arriving at work. Called Porsche Assistance out, and the RAC man couldn't find the leak, so told me to keep an eye on it. Came out after lunch and the pool has grown. Car is getting picked up and taken in to the dealership this afternoon. Anyother leaks or answers from fluid at this point of the car? I suspect it could be a leaky radiator hose though, as the pipework for the front left rad runs close to the area the drip is comming from. Jack

POST 2Original post

Jack, I've experienced puddles at this location before and was also worried; however, if you examine the fluid, it is just water, and therefore I believe that it may be A/C condensation. This has happened several times, and I just completed a 1400 mile road trip with no problems .....

POST 3Original post

If it is clear, it is AC condensation. It won't smell like anti-freeze, washer fluid, brake fluid, fuel ... and it won't feel like them. A common trait. Hey, alligators are water critters ...

POST 4Original post

My thought too, but 1) it has never produced a puddle like this before 2) it has done it twice today 3) it is only 14C here today and zero humidity 4) after the first leak I topped off the coolant (admittedly I have never checked it before....) with 1.5 pints to MAX and after the second leak it was already below MIN again. It is still clear fluid, though, so very confusing............. Jack

POST 5Original post

I had this with my Boxster once and it was from the washer pipes.

POST 6Original post

I have it too! Called the dealer said it might be brake fluid. The liqiud does not feel like water, it also does'nt evaporate very fast and leaves slight stain on garage floor. And no it's not marking it's territory ! Ha I would think that if it was water based the above would not be true. Brake fluid res. is in area also. Very perplexing, dealer said to bring it in for a look, let us know what happens at the dealer for you Jack.

POST 7Original post

Mojo definately not washer pipes. The res is full to the top from when I filled it the other day. The brake fluid (under the hatch under the front lid) is also full, so can't be that. Seems like there could be a million different things under there. anybody knoe EXACTLY where the aircon moisture release is? Jack

POST 8Original post

Aircon condensation release..i think it's actually on the right front--if you look under the car, there is a little nubbin of a hose there...when i asked the service guy what it was, he told me aircon water drain. sometines i get a bit of h2o down there, sometimes not, but i havent' used the aircon that much, so..

POST 9Original post

A/C condensate seems to come from the R front of the car.My experience so far is that the car can leave a puddle of water due to the A/C. Water can leave brown stains on the garage floor depending upon its mineral content. One would think that coolant would have telltale antifreeze color. Keep us posted, perhaps it's not a big deal.

POST 10Original post

I will do, and thanks for all the info. Where the drips were coming from there was no little nubbin there, just dripping from one of the smooth panels. Definately wasn't anything milky KS and didn't smell or leave any rings. Definately looked like plain old water, but can't imagine it was condensate with the weather we have had today. but was definately worse after the engine was run and hot, and then the leak deminished over time. Start the engine up again and get it warm again and the leak would come back. And after both times the engine coolant level was way below the MIN mark. Maybe I had no, or very little anti-freeze in my coolant, though that seems very unlikely. Can only wait for the garage to call tomorrow. In the mean time I get an E-Class. First car I ever really drove with Sat Nav. Nearly crashed twice playing with all the buttons. Couldn't find my house though...haha. Think I'll stick with a map, thanks. Jack
