I just replaced my second window regulator after cheaping out and getting an aftermarket one, so asking with justifiable concern

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My drivers door has the I assume usual windon not staying down 10cms until closed problem. It happens with both interior and exterior handles so not, I guess, an isolated door mechanism problem.
Is this microswitch part the correct one?

I've seen a video for fitting which is complicated but doable...
Many thanks,
Phil
The window closes back up when releasing the door handle after opening both inside and out. It strikes the outside of the window rubber. The passenger side stays down until the latch is activated, in other words when the door is closed. I wondered which part was required to fix this?
It's your door lock mechanism that's at fault not the microswitches on the handles. The door lock mechanism has a built in microswitch that, in this case, has failed.
Fortunately they're the same part as VW/Audi so not expensive. There's a DIY on here how to fit it if you use the search function.

I had exactly the same issue - cardoorlock.co.uk - just choose the correct side -only £26.50 - Porsche part is c £350, my indie was suggesting c £180 for the part, but I supplied my own from the above.
Out of interest, have the aftermarket locking units people have fitted worked well? I just replaced my second window regulator after cheaping out and getting an aftermarket one, so asking with justifiable concern
My indie gave me the old one that was changed recently in mine. It was a pattern part and last changed in 2018 as far as I can see in the history file. With everything these days quality tends to reduce over time.....and time will tell.

My passenger side one only lasted 3 or 4 years, but was a £20 ish Ebay one. TO be fair, that door handle probably only got opened about 20 times in that period, so it probably stuck. Now I've done it, the whole job is well under an hour though and the second part I bought, looked better quality.
