I would appreciate any pin out information Ive checked most of the wiring over that I can see no sign of any damage just need to access the main module Im pretty sure there is no power going to the throttle body.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

update on the fault after a few hours tracing wires I found a bad connection on one of the multi plugs in the engine compartment looked fine so I cleaned with electrical spray and closed the pin up and it worked.

Hi folks Havent used the car for a few weeks now struggling to start and wont idle have cleaned throttle body and maf but still have these codes I cant hear anything in the engine bay when I try the throttle procedure. Have also tried new battery. Thanks

Try unplugging the MAF and then attempt to restart. Report back.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Have tried cleaning and unplugging the maf still the same fault. Thanks

POST 4Original post

Just to be clear we want u to start the car with the maf unpluged. It will put the dme in a defualt mode and take the maf tuning out of the equation. Just want to verify that u started the car with it unpluged and its similar? Also we can assume that u own a 996 but u have given us no other info. Year, milage, aftermarket engine tune or power adders, trans? As it all may matter. One more thing to look for as its mice season is chewed wires. They like to get into the bulk head harness, pass side where it comes through the firewall.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi sorry the car is a 2004 3.6 996 cab ive tried the maf connected and disconnected no difference the only way I can get to start the car on a rough idle is to open the throttle body slightly by hand. I know you shouldnt do that but its the only way car will start.

POST 6Original post

Just off the top of my head (didnt google the code) i would say there is a tb issue and its either the wiring or the tb itself. I would search for a pin out so u can see if u have a bad wire leedjng into the tb. Will your scanner graph the idle air controler, tb position and fuel pedal position? These graphs will show how the tb responds to the signal input. Also look up the proceedure for throttle position calibration. It takes 2 minutes and might soive this

POST 7Original post

I found this as not much out there on these codes.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi It seems there is no power to throttle body tried relearn manually and also my scanner but does nothing will try and find pin voltages for throttle body to test or is there an easier way. Thanks

POST 9Original post

No easier way other then to pay someone else. U will want to back pin the dme plug and check continuity to the tb plug. I suspect rodant damage in the passenger side firewall bundle. U may want to get a flashlight and mirror in there or an endoscope. Lmk if u need a pin out i can look it up this evening.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Thanks for the reply I need to access the module I believe its behind the lower convertable roof section behind the back seat. I would appreciate any pin out information Ive checked most of the wiring over that I can see no sign of any damage just need to access the main module Im pretty sure there is no power going to the throttle body. Its not helping with the car stuck outside and constantly raining. will try to get throttle body back off tomorrow and see if I can power the motor up I have a variable power supply at least it will rule that out. im suspecting the worse ecu faulty.

POST 11Original post

You have an e-gas system. Check your accelerator pedal and the pedal sensor. Make sure it didn't get knocked loose. http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=702-10

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have checked the pedal everything okay reading on my tester. Thanks

POST 13Original post

Welp u said convertable and out in the rain..... i wonder if u have a drain clogged and some water puddled somewhere it shouldnt have?

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It was a bit damp inside the car but I believe the only module inside is for the alarm located under the seat which works fine. I need to access the main ecu to check for any damage just need to locate it I believe its under the rear of the folding roof. Thanks

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Folks update on the fault after a few hours tracing wires I found a bad connection on one of the multi plugs in the engine compartment looked fine so I cleaned with electrical spray and closed the pin up and it worked. A pain to get to and work on but just about managed to get my hands in Thank you all for your input.
